Day 27

1 Chronicles 16:23-25

“Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.”

Meditation – One of the most common ways we worship is through singing. Throughout scripture, especially the Psalms, we’re told over and over again to “sing to the Lord.” When we choose not to sing because we don’t like the song, we don’t know the song, we don’t like how we sound, we don’t want others to hear us…..you name the reason….what we’re really doing is making worship about us; our wants, likes, preferences, etc.  What God desires most is our willingness to lay ourselves aside and worship him fully. And sometimes that requires us to sing. Take a few moments and listen to this song: (Pat Barrett – “Sing to the Lord”)

Prompt/Response – Try your hand at singing along. It doesn’t matter how you sound. It doesn’t matter if you know all the words. Sing what’s in your heart! This is all about and for Him!
