I rarely find facebook to be conducive for loving Christian dialogue on controversial subjects. For those who choose to post (and in this matter I believe Christians should live and let live) here are a few things to consider:
1. Have I been drinking? If so, it is best not to post.
2. Is it true and have I verified that it is so? If not, it is best not to post. I have deleted many “friends” who insisted on posting things to “find out if this is really true.” If you don’t know that it’s true, don’t post it. In case you are not aware, everything on the internet is not true.
3. Do I want future employers to read this? If not, it is best not to post.
4. Will this bring about something good, holy, and pure? If not, it is best not to post. You are on the wrong team when you are stirring up divisiveness.
5. Can I say this as an ambassador of Christ? If not, it is best not to post. You are no longer your own. You belong to Christ. Live like it.
6. Am I angry? If so, it is best not to post.
7. Does this have anything to do with cats? If so, it is best not to post.
