Hurricane Ida Relief Trip
September 14, 2021 @ 9:00 am - September 19, 2021 @ 4:00 pm
Hurrican Ida Relief Trip dates are set for September 14th – 18th. We will leave the church parking lot at 9:00 am on Tuesday and return approximately 4:00 pm on Saturday. We will be working through the 8 Days of Hope organization. There is no cost for the trip. However, we are asked to bring one case of water and our own work gloves and personal hand tools. The primary work will be removing debris, mucking out homes and assisting families with whatever they need. Work days will begin with breakfast at 6:30 am along with a time of worship and devotion before heading out to help the families. Lunch will be delivered to the job site each day and dinner will begin at 6 pm. You will need a Bible, case of water, work gloves, sturdy work shoes or boots, air mattress or cot, bed linens, pillow, towel, toiletries and spending money for meals on the road. We will be staying at Church of the King – Little Creek Campus (22205 Little Creek Road, Mandeville, Louisiana) separated by gender. Lodging will be separated by gender. There are a limited number of RV spots available if that appeals to you. If these dates do not work for you and you would like to go at another time, 8 Days of Hope’s Rapid Response will be set up from September 4th-25th. You can serve any time during that time frame. Complete the form on 8 Days of Hope’s website to schedule your time whether you plan to go with our group from Grace or on your own. Please also contact Kathleen Halliburton at 479-646-1177 or to let her know if you are going so we can plan appropriately for transportation.
