Lent 2020 – Week 3
Welcome to the third week of our Lenten journey. This week, we will:
- Focus on The Lord’s Prayer: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
- Read Hebrews 13:20-21
- Fast Tuesday
The Lord’s Prayer
This portion of The Lord’s Prayer can be difficult to swallow for some of us. It forces us to think about our dreams, desires, circumstances, etc. a little differently. As you pray through this part this week, choose to pray from a different perspective. In what ways would our world look differently if His Kingdom was here on earth right now?
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Scripture for March 8-14
Don’t forget to sit and soak, as we read God’s Word. It’s important to listen intently and rely on His Word to mold us and form us into His image.
Hebrews 13:20-21
20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Fasting
This week, we will fast breakfast and lunch on Tuesday. We fully realize there are dietary needs for some. And that’s completely ok. If that’s you, please take care of yourself and do not fast from food. Find something else you can give up. Jeff posted about this last week….so go back and read it for more clarification.
Praying your week is blessed in a BIG way! It’s been an awesome journey so far!
