Do you have trouble thinking of words to say to God when you pray? Are you afraid some emotions are too intense to express to God? Do you reach the end of a day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all? You’re not alone. Prayer is the way we relate to God, but sometimes it’s a struggle. Throughout God’s Word, we encounter many voices who teach us how to pray.

In this study, join with six beloved Bible teachers who will help you study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. You’ll learn that God welcomes your praise and lament, your thanksgiving and intercession. You’ll see examples of how to pray when you’re alone and when you’re gathered with others. Above all, you’ll notice there’s no one right way to pray. As you draw near to God through prayer, you’ll find your faith strengthened and your heart united to Christ.

Whether you are longing for renewed hope, deeper faith, or fresh encouragement in your walk with Christ, this study is an invitation to see how the risen Jesus still meets His people, transforms hearts, and sends His church.

The Screwtape Letters (by C.S. Lewis)

Facilitator: Kathryn O’Brien

Status: Open

When: Wednesday mornings 10-11:30am

Length: 7 weeks (04/08/26 - 5/20/26)

Location: Activity Center

Type: Co-Ed Bible Study

Cost: approximately $10.00 (purchase book on your own)
Description: The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis offers a compelling and eye-opening look at spiritual warfare through a series of fictional letters from a senior demon, Screwtape, to his nephew, Wormwood, a younger tempter in training. With wit, insight, and sharp biblical wisdom, Lewis reveals how Satan often works not through the dramatic, but through subtle deception, distraction, doubt, and division in everyday life. As readers follow these letters, they gain a deeper awareness of the spiritual battle surrounding every soul and the reality that the struggle between Heaven and Hell is very real.
Whether you’ve read the book before or are picking it up for the first time, this will be a rich and thought-provoking study together.

When: Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:30pm

January 27th- March 17th (8 Weeks)

Location: Church Office

Type: Men's Community Group

Status: Open

I’m a hard-working dude who enjoys the life God has given me. In my free time, you’ll usually find me bowling, spending time in God’s Word, or just relaxing with friends. Recently, God has been renewing my life in powerful ways, and I love praising Him for what He’s doing. I’m also raising one amazing boy and striving to be a God-honoring example for him—something I couldn’t do without the support of my Grace family.

Purpose for the Group

God has given me a deep heart for men. Too often, we as guys tend to isolate when facing life and its challenges—but that’s not how we’re called to live. We are called to know one another and to be known. This Men’s Weekly Sermon Recap Group exists to create space for that kind of connection as we gather to revisit  Sunday messages, ask honest questions, and talk through how God’s Word applies to real life. Together, we’ll pray, relax, sharpen one another, and encourage spiritual growth—moving from simply hearing the sermon on Sunday to living it out during the week. Brothers, let’s lean into life together. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi, we are the Cole’s!  Our names are Robert and Natalie and we have been married for 4 years and together for 6! We have 3 children: Brandon (22), Maddy (17), and Evan ( 9 months). We are a bit unique! Robert and I met here at Grace over 6 years ago, we have a 14 year age gap but know God brought us together for a purpose and are excited to share our love for the Lord and marriages with others!

Purpose of the Group

The purpose of our community group is to create a space for couples/married people to come and build lasting relationships with others who want to center their marriage around God.

We spend so much time caring for our children, aging parents and others but how much time do we take to sit and connect with our spouse and God. This is a chance for couples to come for an hour a week and focus on God together. It’s important to put God at the center and remember we are stronger together.

Jonah, Amos, Hosea

Facilitator: Terry Gallamore

Status: Full

When: Sunday at 10:45am - 12pm (after the 9:30am service)

Beginning January 11th

Location:  Activity Center

Cost: $10 for paperback or you may purchase on your own

Type: Co-Ed Bible Study

Description: Through the lives, examples, and messages of these three prophets, we see God’s constant love and forgiveness for Jews and Gentiles alike in spite of blatant disobedience, spiritual adultery, inappropriate worship, and a lack of justice. In the twelve studies within, we focus on these “Minor Prophets” so called for their brevity rather than their importance. By working through this study, you will learn that in your life, just as in the lives of the people of Israel, God’s faithfulness is unending even when our faithlessness is constant.

The Book of James

Facilitator: Erin DeLassus

When: Wednesdays at 5:45PM

Beginning January 14th

Location: Activity Center

Type: Women's Bible Study

Status: Full

True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.

Francis Chan unpacks the dense truth contained in the book of James in front of the iconic backdrop of San Francisco, the city where he lives and ministers. Through 12 sessions, Francis works through James verse-by-verse, challenging followers of Christ to move beyond a private, intellectual knowledge of God and His Word, to a vibrant faith that impacts every square inch of life.

Sunday Sermon Recap

Facilitator: Amanda Maxwell

When: Tuesdays 6:30pm-7:30pm

January 27th- March 17th (8 Weeks)

Location: Blue Room at Grace

Type: Women's Community Group

Status: Full

I’m always on the go—whether I’m chasing my eight-year-old, working with teachers and students at Greenwood Junior High, or helping with our youth group on Wednesday nights. I’ve been married to my husband, Andrew, a fellow educator, for fifteen years. I love all things coffee, a good book, and any chance to spend time with my family. And if I can sneak in a fishing trip, even better.

Purpose of the small group:

The purpose of this small group is to create a space where women can build genuine, meaningful connections with one another. We spend so much of our lives caring for our families, working, and juggling endless responsibilities that true fellowship and deep friendship can easily slip through the cracks. If we’re not careful, we can move through life feeling unseen.
This group is an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and really get to know each other as we dig deeper into the weekly sermons. I can’t wait to learn who you are—beyond your daily roles and routines. You matter, and I’m excited to walk alongside you.

Sunday Sermon Recap

Facilitator: JD Cunny

When: Sundays at 4:00pm-5:30pm

January 25th- March 15th (8 Weeks)

Location: JD's House

Type: Couples

Status: Full

We’re a couple who loves doing life together—whether that’s getting to the mountains, cheering on our favorite sports teams, or baking cookies at home (ok that’s more Misty). But more than anything, we love raising our two-year-old daughter, who keeps us laughing, learning, and growing every day.
We often joke that we’re a “non-traditional” family, but the longer we live, the more we realize that non-traditional is actually pretty normal. Life doesn’t always follow a straight line, and we’ve learned that God meets us right where we are.
Misty works as an IT Tech and has a special gift for baking cookies that brings people together (you’ll likely get to enjoy some!). I spent 25 years working in the real estate appraisal world, and have been blessed to serve on staff at Grace as one of the pastors for the past three years.
Purpose of the Group
The purpose of our Community Group is to create space specifically for couples to go deeper into Sunday’s sermon—taking time to reflect, ask questions, and wrestle together with how God’s Word connects to everyday life–marriage, parenting, work, and what it looks like to live out our faith at home. The goal of this group is to move beyond simply hearing the message on Sunday to actually living it out together during the week. As we do that side by side, we’ll grow spiritually, encourage one another, and build meaningful relationships with other couples that extend well beyond Sunday morning.
